Equations between film stars and producers change every Fiday. But when Aamir Khan`s great buddy Ashutosh Gowariker, whose film Lagaan has created history, completed writing his next script, his choice was obvious. Alas, he didn`t even get close to reading out the script for him.The reason?

Aamir has committed himself to director Ketan Mehta for his film based on the life of freedom fighter Mangal Pandey and would not take up any other offer. What could be the possible reason for his sudden betrayal? Insiders reveal it`s the Rs 5 crore remuneration that Khan could not refuse.

And had it been Gowariker`s film, it would have been his home production for which post-Lagaan, the stakes would have been too high. So the dosti has turned sour. Sad but true! Shahrukh Khan has been signed for the Gowariker film titled, Desh Shahrukh had earlier turned down Lagaan thinking it to be too low brow.
